7 Tips: How to Make the Most of Your Trade Show Display Opportunity | Image360 Blog

You’re headed to a trade show, excited to show off your new product, but do you have what it takes to get noticed? Have you prepared enough to take advantage of this opportunity? Trade shows give you the possibility of new clients, new partners, new customers and new suppliers.

Make the most of your opportunity with trade show signs and displays that will “wow” your audience! The following are some ideas from Image360® to get you started.

1. Write a Plan

Begin your custom display by coming up with a plan. Compile a committee of marketing experts within your business and decide on a strategy. Some questions you could answer to get yourselves there might include:

  • What size are our products?
  • What is the best way to display the products?
  • Should we secure them?
  • Will we show how they work?
  • Does our product need a power source?
  • What other services or intangible products will we advertise?

As you consider the answers to these questions, you’ll have the specifics needed to complete the rest of the steps.

 

2. Keep It Simple

Trade show displays that have too much going on can actually overwhelm a potential client. Instead of scaring off your customers, draw them in by keeping the display simple. Of course, you should have your product there, but you don’t want it to look cluttered. Before going to the convention, set up your display and play around with the amount of products until you hit that sweet spot.

Something else to keep on the simple side is the amount of information you offer the people at the show. You want them to know everything about the product you’re promoting, but you don’t want them to have to hang on to too many pamphlets or flyers. Create a tidy-looking brochure and display it in a brochure rack from Image360 so clients can take one at will. If someone doesn’t have time to spend at your booth, the brochure should give them enough information to really understand your product.

3. Show It Off

Demonstrations are a great way to show off your product. You could offer demonstrations every hour on the hour or something similar so everyone knows when they can see your product in action. While showing off your product, let other attendees at the convention give it a try. You may want to have a sample product specifically for this purpose so you don’t run the risk of damaging products. Keep in mind the more people try it, the more people will talk about it, the more people will come by your booth to give it a try for themselves and the more relationships you will begin to build.

4. Complement Your Product

While a large product itself might be best suited directly on the floor, there’s a lot you can do above and around it to draw attention.

5. Build an Environment

For example, if you are promoting something for the yard, turf might be a great selection instead of a rug. If you are promoting office supplies, set up a desk for your visitors to sit at while testing the products. 6. Light It Up

You might say nothing draws more attention to a trade show display than light, and you’re right. While bright, flashy lights could get someone’s attention from across the room, it’s important to implement direct lighting into your display as well.
